Conscience
A Spiritual Warning?
Is a guilty
conscience spiritual? Lets look at what it
does. When it rises up it means you have crossed the line of what is
right for you in God’s eyes. You have tapped into
God’s
“right way” plan and these feelings are signifying
that
this is not right for you. At this point of spiritual enlightenment,
you can choose to ignore and continue to do what you have been warned
not to do, or you can choose to seek forgiveness and turn away from
your actions.
What is this
conscience and where did it originate? Your
parents tried to impress it upon you in their instructions on right and
wrong but you probably didn’t understand its impact until you
had
lived life.
How is it that it
alerts me to right and wrong?
I’m not spiritual, or at least I don’t profess to
be. It
predates science, just like us human. We are here. Everyone has
opinions about how we came to be, and, of course, those conclusions
exclude any mention of a creator.
Since Science can
only study what exists, perhaps we
need to go back to what has been written among the sacred writing
history involving mankind. Right and wrong came when two people made a
decision at the beginning of all creation to do it their way and ignore
God’s way. A decision which disconnected mankind from his
creator
directly but triggered something within that alerts us to when we have
strayed too far to the left.
The signs that
something is at work: bad feelings about
something you did, or about to do, the lack of joy, a voice that keeps
accusing you with words like, “You know that is not right.
Don’t do it.” There are other signs you are under
the
weight of a guilty conscience: attempting to drown your thoughts in
Alcohol, drugs, relationships and more wrong doing. It could even bring
on severe sickness and disease.
If you ignore this
attempt at spiritual enlightenment
through your conscience, you are moving into a very dark place, which
can destroy you. You are not wrestling with a physical condition. You
can’t see your conscience but you know it is there.
Living with a guilt
can rob you of the enjoyment of
life. It can take your life, if left untouched, and allowed to rule. It
will cause you to do more and more damage, thinking you are punishing
yourself when it is really getting you to close off the spiritual light.
Take a moment and
search your guilty conscience. Do not
