The
Art of
Writing
Love Letters
Writing love letters can have lasting connections. Great
letters where you can experience the heart and soul of another person
are hard to depart with, even after that person is long gone out of
your life. Prison is full of letter writers of love. Men who have the
ability to capture a woman’s heart through the power of
words.
That same trend appears to be happening over the internet, people
prefer to write than talk face to face.
Even after marriage
it is a good practice to continue to
endear one another with little notes or letters as this couple learned
at The
Art of Love Letter Writing: Courtship After Marriage.
Exercising
one’s imagination and being able to pen
those words to paper and paint a picture of beauty, love and desire is
an art. Here is an example of the opening to a love letter:
Dear Lawrence:You
are like the rain I am watching
through my window, falling upon the earth, wetting the ground,
cleansing the air, yet when it’s over, even the grass has a
freshness that could never be achieved by watering it with a hose.
I enjoy the
downpour of the rain. It is peaceful to look
upon, as God seems to know just when to release it. It’s
funny
because you always seem to know the right things to say, when, which
makes you special to me, just like the God in my life.
Even when I get
caught in the rain, it never makes me
angry, instead I giggle and laugh like a child. Similar to when I am
around you, the times we share mimics my experience in the rain. There
is something about being in your presence that brings joy, giggles and
laughter to my life. Thank you.
The rain has
stopped and I am fighting the urge to go
outside and look for puddles to wade in. It would be fun, carefree and
this time my mother won’t be saying,” Get out of
the water,
you’re wetting up my shoes.”
You have become my
desire to step into puddles after a
hard rain. I am learning to exercise self-control in our relationship.
There are sacrifices to be made at times, especially when our schedules
are hectic, or when we make a plan and we have to change it.
I want our
relationship to be more than just carnal
desires between a man and woman. I truly want to respect you as one who
knows what you want and refuse to compromise, even in the courtship
goals we have set in our relationship.
I appreciate those
qualities in you.
Thank you,
Vanessa M.
You may also
include some beautiful love
poetry
along with your
love letter.
