So perhaps marriage is not a lost art like some would
like us to believe. Today marriage is looked at as something States and
governments instituted, but it is not. It was a part of God’s
plan. A rib was taken from Adam to form Eve.
Eve was presented
to Adam as his wife, his help meet,
thus the first wedding, and Adam said: “This one is bone from
my
bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called
‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.”
These two people
were then told to be fruitful and
multiply, have sex and increase. If you believe this story, that God
had a purpose for two people being joined in a marital relationship: to
duplicate himself through Holy offspring who would acknowledge him as
God with worship and praise.
Man has through his
knowledge and intellectual pride,
attempted to exclude God from all of creation, even the institution of
marriage. Thus, we have the promotion of promiscuous sex which
increases the number of takers without any commitment or
responsibility. The results are babies born without fathers, sexually
transmitted diseases, broken hearts and relationships.
A person who is a
taker would say, “No, I like my
single life.” On the other hand there are folks who desire to
have all that life has to offer so they desire to be married. And in
some cases there is a want but it has not happened yet. Those people
are probably saying, “Will I ever meet my mate?”
Don’t let
the divorce rates fool you into thinking
getting married is old fashion. The question left still to answer: Is
it for you? You’ve heard the story. If your intent is not
lining
up with God’s plan, then why marry? This is your choice.
There are
consequences to every decision. It is called
reaping what you sow. If you sow free love, no commitment, free sex,
multiple partners, you may feel good for a moment, but are you ready to
get back what you have given?
“The
coolest thing about God, He won’t
force you to live his way of life. He allows us to make up our mind.
What’s your decision today?”
